Ingrown Toenail Surgery
A minor surgical procedure to permanently remove ingrown toenails. It involves local anaesthetic and phenolisation. The toe is anaesthetised and either part of the nail or the whole nail is removed.
A chemical called phenol is applied to prevent regrowth and the toe is dressed. The procedure has a high success rate of 95%, generally painless with a small risk of complications.
Bio-mechanical Assessment and Orthotic Therapy
This is an examination of lower limb abnormalities, looking closely at underlying causes for hip, knee, heel or foot pain. If you are suffering pain or discomfort in any of these areas- get checked out today.
Plantar fasciitis, Morton’s Neuroma, Metatarsalgia, Achilles tendonitis and bunions are very common problems associated with foot structure. Orthotics are devices put in shoes to stabilize foot function and improve foot function. Custom made or per-fabricated orthotics are available in Enniskillen Foot Clinic.
Podiatric Acupuncture
Acupuncture is the insertion of very fine, sterile needles into the body to treat and aid medical conditions. It is particularly beneficial for neurological and musculoskeletal conditions relating to the lower limb. It is generally pain free and a very safe procedure.
Common conditions treated:
Plantar fasciitis
Achilles tendonitis
Knee pain
Ankle stiffness
Shin splints
Chilblains
Big toe joint pain
Additionally, it can be used on ‘trigger points’ within muscles. Trigger points are knots in the muscle that weaken the muscle and prevent full lengthening. Needling these points aim to relieve the muscle tension, therefore strengthening the muscle for better performance. Acupuncture can be used as an individual treatment or in conjunction with other remedies for maximum results in patient care.
Verruca
Verruca or plantar warts are caused by the Human Papillomavirus (HPV).
A verruca is virus and can be stubborn and hard to treat. Debridement and caustic therapy treatments are available in clinic.
An assessment is advised to discuss all treatment options, including nil treatment, before beginning treatments.
Swift Microwave Therapy
Why chose Swift?
Swift is the most effective verruca treatment available. Swift uses microwave energy, delivered through a probe, applied directly to the affected tissue. No needles, no dressings or bandages and no home treatment is required. You can return to normal activity immediately. Each Swift treatment is quick and non-invasive and is safe to use on children.
How Swift works?
Microwave energy is delivered to the skin, which rapidly elevates tissue temperature, creating a precise and localised cell destruction. Ultimately, allowing your body to create an immune response to combat the virus.

“Excellent service. My lifestyle & sporting interests of cycling, hiking & horse riding definitely take their toll on my feet & after months of me not bothering Carol very gently managed to expose actual real feet under the layers of hard skin. Thank you for making them feel human again!”
